Jim Nabors best known for his role as the loveable "Gomer Pyle" on The Andy Griffith Show. Nabors married his partner of 38 years, Stan Cadwallader in Seattle on Jan. 15.
Nabors is 82 and his partner Stan is 64. Alright Nabors is kind of a chicken hawk...lol.
Nabors has been suspected of being a gay man for years but has never really addressed the rumors.
He wanted to make his relationship with his partner a legal matter.
"I think every person on this earth has a choice of who they want to spend their life with," he said.
Nabors shared with Hawaii News Now that he's been open about being gay with
co-workers and friends but hadn't acknowledged it to the media before.
He also shared that he was not ashamed of people knowing, he just didn't tell people
because it was "such a personal thing."
Coming out is a personal matter in the LGBT community and I have to always take into consideration Nabors was living in very different times. You had lots of flaming queens in the entertainment business that unfortunately could not be truthful about their lifestyle because it could damge their career. How you doing Paul Lynde? lol
82 years is a long time to be in the closet so I am happy for Nabors and his partner.
